ShareBetweenDevices — Free Private P2P File Transfer
Send files and clipboard text directly between any two devices — no upload, no account, no app. Files travel peer-to-peer between browsers using WebRTC. They never pass through a server and are never stored anywhere. DTLS encryption protects every byte in transit.
How it works
- Open the site on the sending device and select a file or paste clipboard text.
- A QR code and 4-digit PIN appear immediately. Share either with the receiving device.
- Open the site on the receiving device, scan the QR code or enter the PIN.
- The file transfers directly between the two browsers — encrypted, with no server in the middle.
- Done. The session disappears when you close the tab. Nothing is stored anywhere.

- Clipboard text transfer — send copied text between devices, not just files
- No app install — runs entirely in your web browser
Alternatives
Unlike WeTransfer, files are never uploaded to a server. Unlike AirDrop, it works between any operating systems — Mac, Windows, Android, iPhone, Linux. Unlike Send Anywhere, no app install is needed. See the full comparison.
Technical details
ShareBetweenDevices uses WebRTC data channels — the same browser API used for video calls in Google Meet. Once two browsers are connected, data flows directly between them. Our server handles only the brief signaling handshake needed to establish the peer-to-peer connection. It never sees the file content.
