ShareBetweenDevices is built to handle as little of your data as technically possible. This policy explains, in plain language, what we do and do not collect when you use the Service at sharebetweendevices.com.
Files and clipboard text are never uploaded
The core of the Service is a direct, peer-to-peer connection between two browsers. The files and clipboard text you transfer go straight from one device to the other over an encrypted WebRTC connection. They are never uploaded to, processed by, or stored on our servers. We cannot see them, and once you close the tab, nothing remains anywhere.
What our server briefly handles
To connect two devices, our server relays a small “signaling” handshake — a few hundred bytes of connection metadata (such as network candidates needed to open the direct link). This signaling data is transient, is not used to identify you, and is discarded once the connection is established or the session expires. We do not log file names, file sizes, or file contents.
Cookies and local storage
We do not set first-party tracking cookies. The Service uses your browser's local storage only to remember preferences such as your chosen language and light/dark theme. Third-party advertising partners (see below) may set their own cookies.
Advertising
This site is free and supported by ads served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

We keep a single anonymous, aggregate counter of how many transfers have been completed in total. It contains no personal data and cannot be tied to any individual or transfer.
Your rights
Because we do not collect personal data or build user profiles, there is no personal account data for us to export or delete. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
